3 KM FROM THE VENUE

Training for HYROX in Valencia

The important part first: we are not an official HYROX club and there is no HYROX class here. What there is, is the kit for the eight stations and a programme where several of them already turn up, three kilometres from where the race is run.

The race happens next door

HYROX Valencia runs from 15 to 18 October 2026 at Feria de Valencia, about three kilometres in a straight line from our door. We are one of the closest boxes to the venue, and that matters in the weeks before, when crossing the city to train is the last thing you feel like doing.

The eight stations, and where each one lives here

The race is eight kilometres of running split into eight legs, with one station between each. Here is what we have for each and which class it turns up in. Where we do not train it, we say so.

  1. SkiErg · 1.000 m

A thousand metres on the ski. It opens the race and it is where most people go out too hard. It turns up in the endurance classes.

  2. Sled Push · 50 m

Pushing the loaded sled fifty metres. This is the station you cannot improvise: either there is a sled where you train, or you reach the race never having touched one.

  3. Sled Pull · 50 m

Dragging the sled back by rope for another fifty metres. It punishes the back and the grip, and it uses the same sled as the station before.

  4. Burpee Broad Jump · 80 m

Eighty metres of burpees with a broad jump. We do plenty of burpees, but this jumping version is not in our programme and we are not going to pretend otherwise.

  5. Row · 1.000 m

A thousand metres of rowing, right at the halfway point. It is among the most trained things here: endurance sessions run to twenty straight minutes on the rower.

  6. Farmers Carry · 200 m

Two hundred metres carrying weight in your hands. Here you work it with kettlebells and dumbbells rather than the race handles: the movement is the same, the grip is not.

  7. Sandbag Lunges · 100 m

A hundred metres of lunges with the bag across your shoulders. Of the eight, it is usually the one you still feel the next day.

  8. Wall Balls · 75 / 100 reps

The last one, and the one that decides a lot of finishing times: seventy-five to a hundred throws on empty legs. It shows up often in the crossTraining WOD.

What you will not find here

The kilometres. Half of a HYROX is running, and our published programme goes up to two-hundred-metre intervals, not one-kilometre repeats. Anyone racing has to put that work in on their own, and anyone telling you otherwise is selling you something. There is no eight-week plan and no class with a race bib either: there is a box with the kit and coaches who correct you.

Who is this for?

For anyone signed up to the race who wants somewhere close to get hands on a sled and a SkiErg without making a trip of it. And for anyone who watched the race and got curious: the normal classes already look a lot like it, and the first one is free.
